fuel gauge

Featured Replies

Hi everyone anyone had this on the vrs2, filled the car right up to the click off on the pump, and now ive done 130 miles and the gauge hasnt moved at all, is this a normal thing, does it have to do a few more miles, if not back to the dealers againnnnn :(....cheers.

I've had similar on a few cars.it stays at full for a while and suddenly drops and drops.

could be a sticky fuel sender unit.but I think it's ok.just keep a eye on it.anymore than say 200 miles I'd start to worry

cheers estate man just seems strange thats all never seen it on any of my cars before......

mine moves after about 60 to 70 miles

The 2nd half of the tank goes rather quickly, silly quick infact! Filled mine up the other day, bearing in mind its a 45 litre tank and I got 48 litres in it with some already left over anyway! :D

Every time I fill my Fabia up, I try and get as much in as possible. The most I have managed before the guage moves is 145 Miles.

ha ha I've never had mine at full yet :-)

ahh.. the unique way the digital fuel gauge works in a fabia. :giggle:

Mine usually doesnt change until anywhere between 100-125 miles. Then each of the sections afterwards will change at anywhere between 15-40 miles.

It just means I have to reset my trip computer at every full fill up so I can workout how much I have left as I don't trust the gauge to be accurate enough.

+1 to all of the above!

fill it up and it will look as if it stays full for a while, then you can actually "watch it" drop! lol....

my fiat was opposite.. (and our fiat abulance is the same) it would drop alarmigly to start with, then just stop moving! I thing they all use "floaters" and it depends on the shape of the fuel tank!

thats my opinion anyway.. but to OP yes its normal.

On the greenline 2 I did around 250 miles without it dropping. then the rest of the tank only did 500miles. I also thought it was broke! :)

Been the same on practically every car I've owned :)

All my Skoda's (I've had 5 of them) seem to do this :) so I wouldn't worry too much.

I know I get about 320-350 miles out of a tank anyway...
