Excellent guys thanks very much

Octavia5 what a great guide, how long did it take you to fit it??

Nice. Good delivery speed too emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I have a 3-way adjustable Autotech fitted and went for the middle setting. Feels perfect to me on that setting, very compliant and surefooted, only breaking away when provoked :)

Whiteline recommend that if you go for the hardest setting on the rear then you need the uprated FARB as well as the RARB.

They also recommend that the bump-steer kit would be the first thing they would fit to the Golf Mk5 chassis, then it is either the WALK or the RARB next.

They have a whitepaper on the Golf MK5 chassis somewhere..........

I have the whiteline RARB set on the hardest setting and no other mods. Feels perfect to me, the turn in and composure is so much more improved B)

Yep, a lot of others just upgrade the rears - the whitepaper is probably Whiteline's way of selling more FARBS emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

It only took about 90 minutes from start to finish, tracking down the right tools and bolts took a few days though, but the actual fitting is very straight forward once you get the car up on the ramps.

some people on here just re-used the standard bits, simply swapping the bar over, tbh you think Whiteline would put the bits you need in the pack

And you are supposed to do it with the car still on the ground so that the rear suspension geometry doesn't alter.

But if you are taking it for a full chassis alignment afterwards I would get it up in the air on a lift where you can work on it without crawling about on the floor!

It must be a PITA to swap a ARB with the car still on the ground!

20 minute of a job with the car on ramps on the driveway!! :giggle:

But you still have to crawl about!

I think this took circa 15 mins to fit when I had mine done. Worth noting that the whiteline grease isn't up to much. I ended up having to have my bar loosened and have a load more grease slapped on - not an uncommon thing if you do a search on google

Ordered one yesterday

Good timing that this thread has been posted up :)

Just fitted one of those a couple of weeks back. DPM seem to be selling it cheaper than Awsome (where I got mine from) and if they are offering free delivery thats an extra bonus. I got my local Skoda dealer to fit it B)

Might get them to fit the RARB too :o

Exellent  did you genuinely notice any difference in the WALK?

I havent fully tested it yet (if you know what I mean ;) ) but yes I have noticed a difference.

The steering feels heavier and more solid in a good way. Havent really noticed a difference in steering response or improved turn in. Sometimes I think its a bit better other times I think theres no difference at all. There is defo a difference with reduced torque steer but no real improvement with traction. The kit's main selling point is reduced torque steer and in that respect it does what it says on the tin. Overall for the price of the kit I would say its a worth while mod. I'm guessing its even better with the RARB fitted and they will compliment each other and improve the overall effect. I look forward to finding out :p

All I have left to do now is a clutch upgrade (if/when the OEM clutch dies) and either a LSD or 4x4 conversion :giggle: Dont have the money for any of that so the RARB will be my last mod for some time
