youll probly find they will never do a hynes manual for new car any more due to the fact that these modern cars require alot more technical training to replace parts i.e most parts now days need programming when fitting.

Hayens only do manuals if the car has sold lots and then the car is up for replacement..MKII Fabia has only had a facelift!

Alot of the suspension/brakes etc is from the MKI Fabia so use a Haynes for that model to point you in the right direction...then use this forum!!!!

Not exactly the mk1 vrs is completley different to the mk2... as is the greenline mk2 as is the monti carlo and im pretty sure they changed the suspension and chassis set up on the mk2 aswel as completeley changing the electronics in and around the car

Not quite......if you look at Powerflex and SuperPro websites they list the same same bushes for the MKI and the MKII Fabia.........there may be slightly different ratings for the dampers and springs but the components look very similar...I know I've had a look!

Put it this way......from what I've seen inside and out of a MKII Fabia the basics of a MKI are still behind the new clothing...and I would use a MKI Haynes manual to point me in rough direction!!

MKI Fabia uses the rear axle bushes from a MKIV Golf, the console bushes from a MKII Octavia...and I've just fitted (straight on no mods) the lift pads from an Audi TT to my Fabia!!!....theres alot stuff that is the same across the VAG range!!!

AS for wiring....MKI has CANBUS same as MKII...both cars will have similar layouts/modules to achive similar functions...the modules might be newer types...but you would have enough basic info to do some fault checking !

My 2011 Fabia Estate needed the handbrake adjusting at the first 10,000 mile service and my Skoda dealer offered to adjust it for a mere £30 - I said no not at that price.

I want to adjust the handbrake myself but will I find the info to do it in the Fabia 2000-2006 Haynes manual or will there be a different way of doing it for the newer model?

I'd like to buy a Haynes Manual, I usually have for other cars I've had, mainly for basic jobs rather than 'big' jobs but don't want to waste money buying a book that can't even help me for the minor jobs.

Any help appreciated.

There used to be another one (same as this one really) but says it was removed by request from VAG. Let's hope this one stays online. If one day this goes offline too, you can always get "Elsawin" service manuals from ebay on a CD, for probably less than a tenner.
