Got our Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi,

Do you mind me asking when you ordered? I have a 170 Elegance on order with Autofinders which I ordered on March 15th and I am still waiting for a build week.

Cheers

Denis

That's strange! I ordered 11 March and they informed me on 8 April of the build date (Week 34 - 15 Aug). I have received 20 emails since keeping me updated. i suggest you phone or email them asap.

Chris

Just a quick update on the VC5 registration paper.

Last week I received a VC5 for my Yeti -from the DVLA - everything fine I am the First Registered Keeper.

About a week later I received a second VC5 from the DVLA -all details correct EXCEPT I am now listed as the second registered keeper. The vehicle is listed as first registered to a company who I have never heard of.

Yesterday I received a letter from the DVLA asking me to return the first VC5 document and they will send me a ' correct' one!

Not sure what is going one. Autofinders are looking into it, but I am getting concerned.

Yikes! That all sounds very fishy! And Autofinders themselves don't even know who this company is?!

I did - on 25th July but no response to that email yet. Have just called and someone is "looking into it".

Do you have a collection date yet?

Cheers

Autofinders Ts & Cs are very clear - the purchaser is the first registered keeper (Clause 7.2) So if you haven't got a V5 stating that you are the first, they are in breach of contract.

9003,

Unless I have missinyerpreted your post, you refer to Autotradres. The company I am dealing with is AUTOFINDERS.

Autofinders do know who the company is, though no details have been provided.

I do hope this is a one off problem as Autofinders have, in all other respects, been a responsive, professional company who, providing this problem is a one off and is resolved, I would recommend and would use again.

Just a mistype on my part. You knew what I had meant. Fixed now.

So I finally got to talk to Autofinders on Friday. I was told they didn't have an update that that the Skoda factory was closed now until something like the third week in August and I wouldn't get an update before then. The guy I talked to said that it might be the heated windscreen I ordered which was causing the delay. Anyone else heard about problems with those>

Does anyone know if factory really is closed now and, if so, when it re-opens? In ten days time it will be 5 months since I ordered and I will admit I am starting to get very hacked off by the lack of information. I was quoted six months delivery and given that it will take a few weeks to ship from the factory to the dealer and I still don't have a build week, I can't see it being here before the end of September earliest. My current vehicle is on its last legs and I am serioulsy thinking of cancelling my order and buying something else - probably an X-Trail.

Grrrrr.

Hi,

emoticon-0106-crying.gif to hear your still getting no info from your supplier, it is correct that the factories have a summer break for about three weeks from the end of July. Have you contacted Skoda customer services; their not always perfect but they do tend to know the status of an order if nothing else.

Oh and it is quite common for some options to go into short supply if demand is outstripping supply or natural forces interfere like in Japan.

Hope you get to hear something soon.

TP

Skoda UK are very helpful, phone them and they will give you a build week. My dealer gave no info until I told them I had been on to cust services.

I ordered end if May told to expect car second wk December.170hp

Thanks chaps.

Even if parts are in short supply, that doesn't excuse a lack of information to the customer. If there is a problem with the heated screen as Autofinders suggested (or any other option for that matter), someone should be able to tell me what the situation is and perhaps give me the choice to cancel that option if the delay is going to be many months beyond the lead-time originally quoted.

I've just emailed Skoda UK Customer Service and will wait to see what they say.

Cheers

Denis

Denis Yes, I believe Skoda do close for a month (although not sure of exact dates, but as mine is being built 15 Aug, i assume they are back by then).

Does seem strange that they are not able to give you more info. Mine has a heated screen and i've not been informed of any delays. I have been told mine will be ready beginning Sept. My advice is to hang in there until you get a response, which hopefully won't be too long. Hopefully, when you are driving the Yeti, you will be glad you didn't buy anything else...

i got my roomster from autofinders, got a good service the car came from claybank skoda in manchester (as it has claybanks sticker in the rear screen, slight give away)

it took a couple of months to get my V5, but all was correct

the service i got was first class and picked my car up from their office at bakewell (in 2007)

they said they had links with several skoda dealers and they got the deals by the dealer playing the numbers / margins and targets games

Dear All

We would just like the opportunity to respond to this post and situation.

We are aware that a number of vehicles(eleven in total) that were sourced from a particular skoda dealership were registered incorrectly and not as we had contracted to as a company. Our company do not register the vehicles with DVLA, these are done directly by the supplying skoda dealership through DVLA. In these circumstances, we were not aware of an issue until a customer raised it with us and as soon as we were made aware of this we investigated this and took the appropriate action.

As a result of these circumstances, we removed immediatley this particular supplier from our approved supplier list. We take our business and customers very seriously and removed the supplier and put steps in place to ensure that this could not happen again.

Our company prides itself in supplying brand new cars to customers and saving them thousands of pounds in the process. We aim to do this without compromising on the levels of service that each customer deserves and in the vast majorirty of cases we get this right. We do accept, wether directly or indirectly, sometimes we do get things wrong and when this happens we aim to put this right and ensure it is not repeated.

If anyone would like to discuss this with me or have any worries or concerns then please do not hesitate to contact me directly through messaging or contact me at the business during our opening hours.

Thank you for your time in reading this.
