Any others about fancying one in my daily combi, guessing the route is 1900 diesel parts as iirc theyre vw big block pattern then fab up a mount?

It will go in, but not easily, it needs some fairly extensive modifications to the engine bay. The abf unit leans backwards so the felicia diesel engine mounts are no good for it, they will bolt to the engine block but with the engine mounted in this orientation the intake manifold is above the bonnet line plus the oil pickup in the sump is at the wrong angle and won't work right,

If i were doing this transplant I'd use the golf cable change gearbox, the wiring on the abf engine is fairly easy to work with too because it also comes from an early immo 1 system.

Keep you eyes peeled on the forum because there will be a subject popping up pretty certain which will interest you a great deal I should imagine.

Edit: however, the 2.0 16v abf unit is a really good engine, absolutely bulletproof, and they can make over 200bhp on throttle bodies, there is a direct-to-head throttle body kit available from jenvey for them. Plus they have been around for ages so you can pick up 2nd hand bits like performance cams quite cheaply

Ive done a fair few of them into mk2 golfs was unsure of if they would sit on the diesel adaptor plate, if i have to go to this much arsing about id go 20v done a fair few of these into mk1 and 2 golfs aswell, but imo too much hassle for the felly and cost as i refuse to spend that much on the combi, may look at an eaton on the aee with a few gaskets, as ive got a 5th injector setup off an old charged saxo in the workshop

Yeah it's easy in a mk2 golf because it all just bolts together... The abf engIne will bolt on to the felicia diesel adaptor plate but like I said before the engine will be sat at an angle it doesn't like.

At least the felicia has a nice big engine bay, should be able to fit an eaton in there I'd say, but they are going up in price now the supply is drying up a bit. You could make your own pikey 5th injector system using a few wires and an old pressure operated switch.

Have you got any of the other bits from that car? I need a cable change gear linkage from a mk3 gti 16v with the 02a gearbox

box and cables have gone mate, i get them in quite regular tbh
