symphony replacement

Featured Replies

hi all just purchased one of those all singing all dancing chinese incar entertainment modules with satnav, now i know that there has been some poor experiences with the chinese system but when you think about it most of this hi-tech stuff that you buy with well known branded names are usually made in china anyway. I should get the system in 3 weeks,it comes with a 2 year warranty and it's from a british importer so fingers crossed, will repost when it's fitted in my 2008 1.9tdi octavia elegance.

link below if anyone wants to have a look.

I can't see your ebay link.

I've been looking at all of these this last week or so but couldn't decide which looked best. The GUI's seem a bit clunky on some of them.

I'm steering towards the Pioneer 3200BT unit at the moment.

sorry ,here is the full ebay address.

checked sellers feedback and it's very good ,he's sold quite a few incar systems for various models and this one is the very latest with an 8inch screen and is for the vw and skoda range also with a 2year guarantee so for the price it's still a lot cheaper than one of those dodgy columbus of ebay

That looks really good but I don't think it would fit in the Fabia vRS dash as it looks slightly too big :(

I bought a Chinese unit off the same seller about 6 months ago, pretty happy with it, sound quality is very good and the sat nav running igo8 is superb, the only thing i would say is, its not the easiest thing to use, scrolling through the albums/mp3's can be very fiddly ! The unit you have ordered looks like it’s the latest model so hopefully it should be a lot easier to use..

yes,it's the very latest one (checked manufacturers website in china) i think it looks very tidy, same size unit as columbus, so i'm looking forward to it,glad your chinese unit is o.k cos there's been some negative feedback on chinese units, but as i said before most hi-tech unitsw are now made in china so here's hoping!

according to the website they don't supply the maps but will put you in touch where to purchase them, they say that way all the maps are uptodate and totally legitimate etc.

emailed the ebayer re maps and this is their reply

(Hello and thanks for the email, My supplier will send you a download link for free for tomtom and igo primo full western europe maps for free, The maps can not be updated but if you email from time to time we will ask them for a newer version, The igo is the latest version but the tomtom is version 6, All you will need to purchase is a 2 gig sd card for the maps to go and all the other stuff will be in the box, All the best and many thanks rt010175.)

hope this clarifies the position,so for the cost of a 2gb memory card and a bit of downloading time you get the maps.
