How did you go about doing the hinges? Im afraid of soaking the inside lol get the apc an detailing brush out and go mental lol close door then hose it that way?

  • Author

I used a detailing brush and tar remover to loosen the grim then a big yellow sponge saturated in soapy water and soak it then soak with clear water then dry it. Once I did that I then applied two coats of megs 16.

how comes going back standard??

Booo, loved the look of ur car

I liked it dude just lost heart.

I assume you turned the steering weight up to its heaviest?

  • Author

Yeah such a good difference.

How does one change the weight?

I used to have a motor with out power steering and loved it but the furbys steering is so light it feels wrong.

Huxley, on your old square plate, where did you mount to? Mines bolted to the crash bar through a big mouth bumper but isnt ideal for removal of bumper. Or for when i put an fmic on. Dont suppose you have pics of your bracket?

Cheers

I made a bracket that attached to the vertical slats in the lower grill, so wouldn't be a great help to you I don't think.

Not really. Bugger aha. Cheers for the reply though :)

That's what we like to hear! B)

Good to see you back and with the modding bug again.

Wow, this thread has really covered some ground and what a beautiful machine in the middle!

Couple of points from very early on:

I've used Pipercross filter for over 100K and doesn't seem to be a problem. Car now at 170K and not using oil etc so no suggestion of wear due to dirty air. It looks a poor fit, but when clamped down is OK. It DOES need oiling. Pipercross sell a spray bottle. Nice thing about them is that you can clean and re-oil as often as you want at practically no cost, so you can always be sure of a clean filter.

Pictures of Ceelock. First fitted one to wife's Fabia because she got car sick when driving (don't ask) and it helped enormously. Tried it myself and found the extra security rather good; no sliding off the seat or slumping, so put one on my own Fabia. They took it off at the last MOT (?) but it is back now as the difference was surprising.
