Interesting post on drl`s....My new Monte Carlo appears not to have them.the dealer says only the vrs has them as standard.Maybe I have them and are not aware?Wheres the fuse box/fuse I need to be looking for and does anyone know if they are standard on the Monte Carlo or not? (I have front fog lights)

Look on page 45 of the manual, it shows how to switch them on or off, if the switch is there.

I have ordered a 1.2 tsi se estate but specced front fog lights (normal ones, not the cornering ones) so should it come with the drl's or not???

Well my car has fogs and came with DRl, I think all cars after feb 2011 have to have DRL's anyway

Not true, see above. Only new models introduced after February have to have them.

As the Fabia was around before February they aren't a legal requirement

Yes

However they may not be activated from the factory.

Remember to ask your dealer to turn them on before you collect the car!

Isn't there a switch or fuse to activate/deactivate them so I can decide whether I like them or whether they do my head in?

If it's anything like the VRS there is a switch in the fuse box under the steering wheel.

youre quite right.its in the handbook.2 mins in the fusebox and the switch is now "on"....Drl`s now up and running

Skoda UK say that having no switch is correct.

The purpose of the switch is to control the DRLs in the foglamp array.

As I have no foglamps, the DRL bulb is in the headlamp array.

To switch these on the diagnostic software is required.

The dealer says that until it is legally neccessary they will not switch the DRLs on.

Any news?

  • 3 weeks later...

Just got my fabia and drl was not activated here also.. In norway its by law required to have drl on so after 15 sec (time to find out how to open the fuse-box) I have automatic day lights running B)

I was actually going to call my dealer to let him explane for me why my new car didnt have drl.. but then I found this great post :)

thanx
