Hi all, I am currently searching for a 4-speed automatic transmission for the Octavia. I need the FDH transmission. I would like to know where I can check or look to find one. Failing that, I will need to source a set of solenoids, as well as spider gears and the bearings for the Diff.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated

The FDH is also found in the VW MK4 gti which may be more common where you are.

IIRC, it's also found in the Seat Toledo/Leon, the 'new' Beetle and Bora - not sure which of these you see.

Gti's are rare here, and all are manual. There are some bora's here as well as normal golfs and octy's but the people here are asking crazy money for the parts. I am hoping that it will be easier to get the parts from the uk and have them brought in

Is getting parts from the US an option?

The problem with the US is that I dont think that transmission was very popular over there.

I see what you mean, being off the 1.6 engine it wasn't fitted to any american models. Would Mexico be any easier than the UK?

It was used in 1.8t's as well. Pretty sure it was fitted to 'new' Beetles and Jettas in the US.

When i had a quick look i couldn't find any fdh transmissions listed for us models, and as the smallest engine size was the 1.8t I thought that it might not be fitted to the bigger engines?

The question for me is where to look, as in companies, breakers etc
