Dark_Hero's VRS

Featured Replies

I've had my Fabia for just over a year now so thought I'd put up a little bit of progress.

Not many pictures of when I first got it, although I'm sure you all know what a standard vRS looks like.

One of the first things I did was to brighten up the dash as it was a little dull.

I also got a new head unit. A pioneer AVH-3200DVD which is amazing!

Decided to do a little bit of visual styling so ordered myself a new grill and some new head lights.

i know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I really like them

next up I saved some money and decided to get some custom leather

I toyed with the idea of doing my grille and fog surrounds in blue to match, but this didn't go down too well..

At the moment I'm currently working on changing the dash lights

I'll get some pics when I'm nearly done.

I also saw some people with carbon vinyl wrapped grilles so thought I'd have a go myslef

It turned out quite well so I'm looking forward to getting it fitted.

Attempted to do the fog surrounds but failed badly due to the shape.. Will have to think of something else for them now.

More progress to follow soon. Any comments welcome

  • Not all modified VRS's need a splitter, be different.

  • Looks good on those wheels. Really suit the car IMO.

  • it only maters how you feel the car is like my mate got his remapped to 175bhp but my standard felt so much better because in his you couldnt feel as much when it boosted because of its smoth power c

Hmm, blue clusters are growing on me, is/was it difficult to do? I'd probably go for white myself :) but blue suits your car well.

The cluster isn't too difficult really. It's just a case of dis-assembling the unit to the board and removing the old surface mount leds and replacing them. It's a bit involved as you need to get the leds all the right way around and as they are quite small can be tricky. The tricky ones so far have been the heated window switch and the light switch. Real pains to take apart.

I've got to do the heater controls next, but don't know how to take the unit out :-/

Thanks mate.

I've pulled off the front bit no problems but can't see any screws :-/ maybe I'm just being blind! Don't suppose you have any pics of where they are?

Small update.

Suspension is now fitted. Given it a small drive and it is amazing!

Also finished all the dash lights. Will upload some more pics soon :-)

Very brave with that grille. Very Dacia or Kia or similar. I can't quite nail down the model I'm thinking of to back it up with a link though.

I like the leather. Looks good.

How much wasthe custom leather mate? It looks the dogs... Like how you are testing and playing until you get t right. My VRS is completely standard still toying with the idea of a few mods

Very Volkswagen

Seats great

Not keen on the grille or lights though :(

The dash looks cool, I like the headlights.

The dash is very impressive mate. A one off interior now.

I like you dash mate, but not keen on the grill or the fog surrounds

Welcome to the club Dark_Hero, its about time someone else managed to change the LED's

How did you manage the LEDs behind the heater controls, I cheated and just blanked out the original ones and just blue-tacked some standard 5mm LEDs behind the panel :giggle:

Well done

Karl

Thanks for the comments everyone, really appreciate it.

Karl, I took the heater control unit out, which was a bit of a pain, then de-soldered the old LEDs. They're smds which are the same as the speedo dials

The lights are actually starting to grow on me. What's the light output like? Alot of the reviews say they give off hardly any light
