F**king Pidgeons.

Featured Replies

Hit a pigeon on my way home yesterday.

Broke the grille. Bonet, windscreen and roof were covered in blood and chunks of meat.

Gutted...... :'(

Anyone might have a spare grille lying around that they want to sell?

I feel your pain mate, twice in one week they flew in to my windscreen at stupid aclock in the morning and scared the living **** out of me

you must have hit him some dunt!!! lol

I used to drive a bus years back and my record is 6 in one hit :(

It was about 5am and there were about 30 in the middle of Mile End

road eating some discarded chips.

I couldn't slam on the brakes as I had 20 odd people on board and a

couple standing waiting to get off at the next stop.

I beeped my horn at them but that was all I could really do.

The ones that flew to either side were okay but the ones which went vertical

couldn't get sufficient altitude in time to fly over the top of my 14foot 6

double decker.

Thud thud thud thud thud. When I came back the other way 20 minutes later

There were six dead un's in the road. Bus was undamaged though, a bit sticky

but undamaged.

Never hit one in the car though, that's quite a lot of damage.

Must have been strumming it a bit :wonder:

 I wish I was, wouldn't be so peed off. Was on a dual carriageway doing 70ish. I should concede myself lucky really I'm having to replace a grille and not a front bumper.

Is your headlight OK? I hit a stupid pheasant and it broke the fixings to it. I had to buy a brand new one. :(

At 70 that would have been like lobbing a 1kg bag of sugar really really hard at your front

grille. Pigeon only weighs about 300 grams on average (My dad used to keep them)

I was only doing about 30ish in my bus but if it had been capable of 70

then the upstairs front windows would have broken.

Bad luck mate, Hope THIS is some help. Chrome section alone is over £40 at main dealer.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

How's the pigeon doing?

Cheers grr666! Chrome grille is in tact, need just the slatted part I need, might go have a look at the scrappy down the road, they are expensive but i've seen 5-6 furbys when I drove past the other day!

Not well judging by the amount of meaty bloody chunks that were on my windscreen.....

Your wish is my command

HOWS THIS?

It's the pre facelift version mind you.

^^^^ beat me to it. It's the cheapest one on there without all the surrounding parts.

Wow that was caused a mess. I hit one on Sunday on motorway doing about 60ish. Not a mark on mine. Not really thought about the amount of damage it could of done until now

Whats the difference between Facelift and PreFace????

Whats the difference between Facelift and PreFace????

I beleive the slates are angled on the newer ones.

I beleive the slates are angled on the newer ones.

Spot on. The slats are skinny the same as the lower grille on the pre facelift

variant, it will fit though.

Gold star please :giggle:

I thought that was the case but wasn't sure. I got a feeling I prefer the facelift one. Noticed today that my VRS badge came off in the damage, will be a good excuse to get a new style one (anyone knows the part number)

Could always get a custom one of pastyboy?

Spoken to him ages ago, but keep forgetting to order some. As far as the "Vrs badge" i mean the little badge that sits on the slats.
