Yeti compliments?

Featured Replies

Anyone had any postive comments from others whilst out and about? Just curious as when I mention to anyone about the Yeti they are cluelless as to what it is.

Lots of comments elsewhere about people in eg supermarket carparks showing great interest in the SM. For my part, several delivery van drivers have asked about it when seeing it on the drive, especially since the (in)famous Top Gear programme.

Several people want to have a look when you pop to the shops etc..

And my Mum liked ours so much one is now on order for her.

People that came to ask me about the Yeti seem to be more curious than complementary.

They just want to know "what it's like inside" and the power.

Part of the appeal is the mistique! I would never had gone for a 4x4 nor would have Mrs Heff until we saw the Yeti!

I was asked by a guy on Saturday what I thought of mine, I couldn't say much as I had only had it for three hours! He also stated he wanted one but the order time was too long and bought QashQai instead, he went on to state he wished he had waited for a Yeti.

LOL That makes me feel better knowing it could be 7 - 9 months until I get mine! I will have to post on this forum to pass the time!

I ordered mine on Feb 7th, I collected it on Saturday 6th August, the 25 week wait was worth it in my opinion.

Sheila had someone come into the shop the other day wanting to know who owned it, and then asked her lots of questions.

Yup, lots of questions on numerous occasions, lots who've seen it on TG, several who've said they plan to buy one.

Surprisingly few comments. In 8 months I've had maybe 2 or 3 people come up to me.emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Typical Yorkshire thinking. Is it "worth the brass" and will my pig fit in the boot?!

Now I'm in real trouble!

I've never owned a car that has started as many conversations. Most people know what it is but have never seen one. Our first conversation occured after only having had the car for 100 miles and were approached by fellow Yeti owners.

Likewise. In London people just do not notice the Yeti AT ALL. But every time I travelled north to Scotland I was amazed to find people pearing inside it every single time we came out of a shop. It was really strange! But also nice! :giggle:

A woman followed me for more than 12 km from a supermarket car park .

I parked up on the street outside local shop and when I came back she approached me telling me she saw my Yeti in Longford and wanted to see what it really looked like. Local dealer hadn't one in stock.

She was so impressed she asked of I would mind waiting for her husband to arrive. She called him and 20 mins later he came with rest of family to see their new car and immediately said they were going to get one.

I've since seen them in their SM, not a new one but an ex demo, same colour and spec as my own.

Another interested potential owner popped over for a look whilst I was filling up tonight - thumbs up from me got him interested.

Ey Terfyn in Wales boyo yer favorite blackface Ewe and yer oversize wellies and in Bobdogs case will it hold plenty knock off Norfolk Bronze Turkeys?

I have driven cars for 24 years and no one has ever looked at one that I have been driving before the Yeti. I have had the Yeti for 13 months now and I know of at least 2 people who have looked at mine in car parks initially and then gone on to buy one. A number of others have also looked at the car and then asked to look inside at the boot, dash etc. I also notice people looking at the car as they walk past in the street, something they have not done for previous cars. It is a car that has generated real interest.

It is not a beauty, my wife had a Fiat 500 that people ran over to for its looks, so I think it is the value and ability of the car that has done it. I live in the North East of England, where value counts. Incidentally, I was in a wealthy part of Cheshire last week, home of the Porsche Cayenne and Range Rover, and no one gave it a second glance!

Came out Hyper U hypermarket (Lucon, Vendee, W.France) to find a guy peering into the car. He told me his son had recommended he consider it as his next car. Showed him around the car, demonstrated some of its features and he was impressed enough to say he was going to book a test drive with the local dealer. He was certainly very complimenary about the car.

I went to pick up some Welsh beer supplies for our French trip (red wine doesn't lubricate the vocal chords adequately!) this morning from our local independent brewer (http://thewaenbrewery.co.uk/default.aspx) and she was very interested in Dewi. Wanted to know all about the fuel consumption, comfort and it's capabilities in the snow. She said she was most impressed by Clarkson's opinion of it, so we may have a future owner.

I did offer to put some of her stickers on the screens, and I got a discount!! B)
