Car in for service & mot

Needs:

Full Service

MOT

Front Discs & Pads

Front Bushes

Brake Fluid Change

Handbrake Adjustment

£700 :'(

That sounds very expensive to me!

I'd suggest a bit of shopping around.

Just fitted new discs and pads (front and rear)to my mates MKV Golf and it uses the same pads/calipers as Fabia and bigger discs.......dealer wanted to charge him £140 for labour only as 2 hour job at £70/hr........took me about 5-6hrs (thorough job) including stripping and greasing the rear slider pins! Full sevice (oil change, engine flush, oil filter change, air filter change, new passenger comp filter, new sparkplugs) and the hand brake adjust is all about 2spanners out of 5spanners for difficulty in the Haynes!

Get some tools and do it yourself!!!! B)

I got all that plus four new tyres and timing belt done for less than £700

Buy the parts through Euro car parts, take it to Unit 18, save £300+

Needs:

Full Service.........................£150

MOT......................................£40.

Front Discs & Pads..........£200

Front Bushes.....................£50

Brake Fluid Change.........£50

Handbrake Adjustment...£20

all ish..:p

PLUS LABOUR COSTS

Not everyone is able to perform these tasks themselves, inlcuding me

Yes it would be nice to spend a spare weekend DIY and save £200. but only IF you are able

Others have no choice

Not a chance, bushes fitted for £50?

The biggest price increase will be the bushes, most garages will charge 3-4 hours alone for this. The parts are only around £15 from vw!

Where in the uk are you?

I paid my local indy £82 a few months back for fitting.
