L & K Remap

Featured Replies

One interesting thing is that the 180bhp Audi TT with the same engine code as the RS have a slightly different turbo. The diameter of the air inlet(?) is 2mm smaller:confused: And that isn't as little as it sounds. So, who really knows how many diferent versions k03 turbos being used.

I'm pretty sure it's all the same hoseing in the K03sport turbos, only that each engine has something that differs from the others (the air inlet as you said Chrille).

The AUQ engine is not used by the TT 180bhp, but by the vRS and the Seat Leon 20VT.

Chris, I can confirm from ETKA that the same KKK turbo is listed for the AUM, AUQ and ARX engines from May 2001 onwards. The relevant chassis number ranges are: 1U-2-540001 >> and 1U-28469000 >>. (The number 8 in the second chassis number indicates that the vehicle was manufactured in Vrchlabi).

. The code is stamped by the lifting eye on the end of the block. Then ring Jabba. I would imagine they can remap any 1.8T engine. Mike told me he had done over 300 AGUs when he did mine.

Can some body give me the web page of Jabba or the e-mail?

I live in central America and here long distance calls are expensive............. I have to save every penny for my Skoda mods:D

Chrille,

That's absolutely correct...;) And do you know why...??? Because Skoda and Seat have made a trick when building the engine (the engine block comes from Germany,... Audi in Ingolstat - if I am not wrong- and all peripherals including turbo are ordered by Skoda or Seat from the turbine manufacturer named Borg-Warner). They simply ordered a K03 cartridge with a K04 turbine wheel or the other way around (external dimensions the same between K03 and K03-sport)... That's something that I heard from Hans Dahlback, a well known Swedish tuner for VAG (collaborating with MTM), last November when he had visited Athens. He said that when Audi/VW learned about this became furious, but thought of doing the same with their new A4 190hp model... ;)

Why would Skoda and Seat do something without telling the VW-group about it?

It sounds more like a roumor then the truth. But you could be right Chris, no doubt about it.

I thought the turbos were made by KKK?..and all 1.8T engines were built in Hungary at the Audi TT factory??

this was my understanding..

It's indeed a fact that the K03sport is nothing but a K04 turbine inside a K03 casing - and yes, KKK is now part of Borg Warner.

The 1.8Ts are made in Hungary now but were initially developed by Audi. It's originally an Audi engine.

FightingDiva,

They probably were not allowed to choose differently... I do not know, it could be a roumor... nobody knows... , but Hans Dahlback sounds a very honest and reliable person ...

I am glad to hear your regards (in Greek) from Sweden...;) Is your origin Greek ???

Cheers,

Chris

Nai ellhnas.. sthn souhdia,

Dahlbeck is ok, but You can't believe all that people say.

In my own oppinion I think that VAG are very well aware of what the other companies does with their car models, engines etc. before aproving them to do so.

But I don't mind getting out more boost from the k03-turbo (with a k04 turbine) :D

Antio,

FD
