Skoda Paint work is simply the best

Featured Replies

hey all my beautiful fabia was targeted by a group of young vandals who spray painted my car with black spray paint, to be quiet frank i was furious at the state of the youth in this world as a 18 year old i would never of even thought of doing something like that when younger, but back to the point. the spray paint they used wasnt cheap it was a decent can of paint but the fabia paint work is better. first of all i used some isopropel alcohol to remove alot of the black paint (weakened alcohol) it didnt get all of the paint off so increased the solution which got the majority of the black off but still no effect on the paint work on the skoda, i then took a large amount of t-cut to the areas afftect which totaly removed the remaining black paint. i was truly amazed at the fact that the skoda paintwork was not damaged at all by the alcohol cleaning and t-cutting directly over the alcohol cleaning. all i can say is i am truley amazed by the long lasting paintwork on skoda's these days :)

what experiences have you guys had with skoda paintwork ?

James.

So glad you removed the black paint without a trace, my paintwork is good, but not as good as my Lexus( it chips too readily )

Someone put thick silver paint all over the boot lid and rear window of a fiesta I had once - it was only about a month old too!! I managed to tcut it all out thankfully accompanied by 6 hours of elbow grease. I had the police round as I pretty much knew who'd done it (there were 2 brothers that caused all the problems in what was otherwise a nice area although not sure why they decided to target me!). Police said without evidence they couldn't do anything about it (useless!). Needless to say I got 5 of my 'larger' friends to pay the family a visit - I had no more future issues :)

Shame they don't use their "good" paint

on the spoilers.

+1 think I would rather someone spray can my spoiler, probably look better!

I've read a couple of threads like this - think there was one in the detailing section of the forum - wax on the paintwork stopped the paint from forming a key, and could just be peeled off!

I use that 'Greased Lightening' (no water) polish which protects paintwork against the problem you encountered.

It does truly does what is claimed to do, on the television.

Glad you were able to remove paint problem, but 'T'cut does remove a small layer of paint when used.

im not going to lie i am slightly lazy and buy a spray on wax cleaner than you spray on and rub onto the paint work and creates a film over the car so when cleaning everything comes of easy ( most of the time) :p
