YS11 DPU - Do you know this Fabia VRS?

Featured Replies

As topic,

Potentially going to look at the above car. If you know this car, you bought it in June 2011 and sold it back to the dealer after a month.

I'd be keen to chat to you regarding in more detail why (The garag have mentioned details, but keen to know your side !) and would really appreciate knowing if you actually returned the car due to a fault.

Cheers in advance !

Edit - I've also noticed this, and several other estates have red centres on the seats opposed to the grey and black combo. Is this just an estate thing/older stock/an option I cant find in the brochure?

can't help you with the car, but if you mean black seats with red markings in then thats an option on all VRS's. black/gery or black/red.

Don't know the car but returned in a month? Alarm bells just rung! You can find out on the log book previous owner and address

+1 ask the dealer for the previous owners details and give them a call, if they refuse then there is probably a good reason not to buy the car.

Thanks for the clarification on the seats, appreciated.

The dealer (you can work it out if you look at my previous threads and find the registration on the car !) told me the car was returned as the chaps wife got pregnant and cost was an issue. I spoke to the sales manager later on today also and he told me that they were also a couple who had come from a Golf diesel to the Fabia VRS.

I asked him to guarentee the car was mint as its a near 200 mile drive to go to the car, and he assured me it was perfect, he has since spent significant time inspecting the car and promises it is absolutely mint, no marks, no issues, nothing.

My take on things based on the above is:

Car ordered, wife told car 1.4 will be nice and sensible, its an estate dear !

Car arrives, car is slightly warm hatch with associated handling.

Wife upset at how quick the car is.

Wife potentially does get pregnant, and this is the final straw, she says theres no way your driving like a **** with our child in the car.

Its possible, I got a good feel off the dealer, but you can all obviously understand my reasoning for starting the thread !

It's not exactly what we wanted (no sunroof being the big thing missing) but, its at a reasonable price, and theres no 6 month wait. I'll have a good chat with the other half tonight and we can work out if its worth a visit

haha ! I hope she isn't expecting just yet !

I'm lucky that she loves fast cars, she was almost as gutted as me when we sold the S2000, which was considerably faster than this !

She really enjoyed the hatch we took out, so all should be fine !

This is the one at Hayselden Skoda of Doncaster, i can vouch for this dealer as I picked mine from them last month, service as been top notch.

At the time of pickup- i was told i was only the 2nd ever customer to order a vRS Estate from them, the first one being all black :p

Yep, thats the car in question ! Appreciate you taking the time to reply to the thread giving them a

I guess my only issue at the moment is being sure this isn't a friday afternoon special.... :wonder:

Dealers can get a list of all warranty work carried out on the car. It is in the central system. Ask for a view of that if there is any reluctance to show you it walk away. Friday afternoon cars are just not worth the hassle no matter how good the price is or back up of a warranty.

Add my twopence bought my ren grand scenic as a 4 month old

Two owner car with 2000 miles on it

First it was an invalid carriage second was

A chap of 70 traded it back for a smaller scenic

It never needed to go back to the dealer

I can honestly hayseldons in Doncaster is the best dealer I have dealt with, I purposely bought from them over the Sheffield dealer due to there honest and great Custer service and I looked at that particular ar yesterday as I wen to see my new car and looked it good condition, ( was not a majorly close inspection however, but I'm sure it will be fine)

So.

We are looking to trek up to Doncaster tomorrow to look at the car. Fingers crossed, if the right deal can be done I'll be changing my car details tomorrow evening B)

If its the right price you can bag a bargain, plus you have a full 3 (nearly) year warranty on it.

The only thing I would be interested in finding out is not that its been sold back but to make sure its not had a accident.

Good luck keep us posted.

Well, just got back from what feels like the longest day on earth, probably caused by last night being my leaving do from work. Note to self, arranging driving 200 miles to see a car the day after such an event with a 6am alarm call isn't the smartest thing to do in your life!

Went up to look at the Fabia VRS I mentioned further up in the thread and had a decent length test drive. Followed this with a test drive in a Octavia VRS for comparison, and we then headed off to a local country pub for some contemplation and a decent meal (I can recommend the boat inn just outside Doncaster !) .... and then took the Fabia out again after.

Long and short of it, we've done a deal on the Fabia VRS.

I'm quite pleased with the deal we've managed to do, which is...

The car (obviously) £14995

2 Year fixed price Service Plan £299

Autoglym Lifeshine (basically paint protection and interior scotchguarding) £294

6 Months Tax £71.50

Full tank of fuel ~£70

Now, if I'd paid the sticker prices for everything, it should have been £15730.50, or £16108.50 if it had been a new car through carfile (and god knows how much through a Skoda main dealer for a new factory order with a near 6 month wait).

We've done a deal for ...... £15140.

So.... there we have it ! Car purchase sorted.

Nice one. Being patient, considering all the options and taking it out for a long test drive was good reasoning. You got a good price for it and you've skipped the long (and somewhat random) queue for the vRS in the process

Pictures up asap :p

Nice one sound like you got a good deal

Excellent. Hoe long do you have to wait ?

Also what was the specs ?

I'll risk asking this on what I'll suggest could be a slightly fanboy forum... Don't take offence at that comment guys !

One of the other forums I frequent is basically suggesting I've been raped on this deal.

Now, I don't think its that bad really... how are people here fairing up with the deals they managed to get on their cars?

How do you mean fairing up? :smirk:

I paid less than you for my brand new estate so i'm good :D

Interesting... What options did you have to manage that? I assume it doesnt have the same as this car?
