Headlight height adj not working?

Featured Replies

The headlight adjuster on my vrs hasn't worked since I got it, I never bother about it really but now coming back into the dark nights I'd like to get it sorted, so where to start? Fuses? Switch? Etc etc

The motors seize up, only way is to replace them. Never bothered me as they are only ment to be used when you've got a boot full and adjusts the lights downwards.

I remember on the rover that you could adjust them manually if the motors went. Don't know if they have that option. TBH, I think it is a pain in the arse. I find mine are either too high or too low. Can't seem to get a perfect balance.

Yup they are adjustable there's 2 allen key/nuts ontop of the headlight

Not the end of the world then.

Mine get adjusted come MoT time. One (drivers side) works, the other is stuck....

Presume you haven't got Xenons? If so you need them to work ASAP ,legally and for the sake of other road users!

If the motors function, ie you hear a whiring sound and perhaps see some movement in the lamp, then chances are the adjustment arm has come out of it's ball joint socket.

If so, remove the light and the rear cover and push it back in. Unscrewing the motor first makes this easier.

No I don't have xenons. So that's ok. But no I don't hear anything in the motors, no noise what so ever

Another thing they do when they're on the way out is get a mind of their own and just keep moving up and down!
