Just joined today. I was a very happy Octavia vRS owner until a couple of weeks ago when, courtesy of a transit van, I was involved in an accident and the car sustained £9000 worth of damage and was therefore written off (fortunately I was not to blame and had independent witnesses). Fortunately (for me) I came out of it completely unscathed, much to the surprise of the police who said the car probably saved my life or me from serious injury. It might be sad to say that I loved that car, but I did.

Having negotiated with the insurance company I have received a £13,000 settlement (which I think is pretty good for 58 plate car) and have just bought myself a new Fabia vRS, picking up on the 1 Sept.

I've just found this site and am looking forward to hearing that I have made a good purchase, having chosen it about another Octavia... please ;-))
