Hmmm sounds interesting, I'll be watching this post.....

I posted a link to this very stuff some time back as some poor chap was having problmes, if you scroll down to the "John T" posts you should find the links, one runs through Peugeots in board system and also comments from the AA and a link to JML.

Having a cleaning agent must have some effect as my Pug 1.6 HDI never had any DPF issues in over 50,000 miles.

Please post results if you try it.

John.

Im a third of way through a tank of juice with a can of this in it, so will see what happens after that :p

i bought it to try it out and see, was going to try BG244 but got this instead, im doing about 350-400 miles most weeks and get a dpf regen roughly once a week, so thought this might help...

What do you mean by a regen - full lights on or just a background one? Mine has done one twice to my knowledge (no lights but revs higher and fans on after switch off) and it is barely noticeable.

If the light has come on that you could have a faulty sensor.

I have a 2008 Scout and in 3 years / 25,000 miles I have never noticed any of the symptoms of a regen...

...let alone once a week :o

Hi Silver1011

I notice your Scout is a PD engine is that 140 or 170 bhp? I could be wrong regarding the engines as used by Skoda but in the Golf the 170 variant was the only one available with dpf's.

Have you noticed any thing different. Does the car run smoother, any difference in performance, MPG, Anything??

Thanks Auric

Every 400 miles? What r u doing to it? I have a 2008 Scout TDi 140 which has only done one regen since I got it 30k miles ago. Once a week sounds excessive! I would also assume that in doing that kind of mileage must include some decent motorway work which should clean the dpf out anyway?

Just in the background, have already had the pressure sensor replaced :)

Im starting to think the same, but dont have the funds for the remap etc. at the min so have to make do

See mostly its my comute to work 60mile round trip but its on A roads and the police here have these new camera vans on it now every F***er does 50mph on it "just in case", Also I think that 6th is too high of a gear for cruising as the revs arent high enough to properly regen it, also the first owner lived in the centre of dublin and used it to drive to work in skoda (staff car) so i think maybe its going back to that have never had the light but can feel it doing passive regens when i give it a bit of beans when the road isnt crowded with farmers and sunday drivers :D

Dont have any dpf issues per se yet, just trying to nip them in the bud before i get any, and now im starting to ramble... :p

I have been using fuelly for the last few weeks so once i empty the treated tank probably the end of the week, should be able to see if there is an improvement in the mpg etc. next week...

Mine has had the dpf light on then cured by a regen, followed by glow plug light and now a permanent exhaust control light. Skoda Assist are on their way to have a look. I just wish I'd known that I needed to call them out instead of waiting to speak to my dealer to tell me that as I'd have got them out yesterday and probably be a day further on into its journey towards a fix. Now a morning off work and a wait....

Had new exhaust pressure sensor and needs a software upgrade relating to a sticking EGR...
