The time is nearly here to re-insure the car. Its an 02 reg vRS in black - no mods.

Im 26, self employed, use the car for SDP & Class 2 (I think) business use but not selling. 20k a year with something like

Personally, I've always found DL cheapest, with Tesco about the same (surprise surprise).

Try doing a search on confused.com, though I've never got a lower quote than DL on it...

Rob.

I've found the same as Rob.

Why not try Adrian Flux or Greenlight as Briskodians get a discount.

See Discount forum for details.

Cheers.

Adrian.

*also waiting for renewal notice from Tescos. Hoping that the fact I'll turn 25 during the pociy will have a good effect on it.

Indeed, seriously try Greenlight or Adrian FLux, subtle differences, my preference is Greenlight as they do fully comp track day cover for 60GBP per day and that is very very good for FULL cover.

As a guide, 28 (29 in a few days :) ) 5yrs NCB 4x4 220BHP KW suspension.

DL : 1053 with 770 excess

Greenlight: 700 with 300 excess

I'm moving very soon to greenlight.

I found Tescos to be

Tesco charge extra for payment by installments? I am under the impression that Direct Line don't charge for this and I have always found them to be really good and they are one of the few insurance companies that seem to pay up without too much hassle, some times getting a claim form off insurance companies can take weeks!

If you pay monthly you are getting credit from them - hence they charge interest. Think it's about

8% with DL...

Rob.

Have a look at the insurers listed in our web links here. LiverpoolVictoria is well thought of on SEATCupra.net.

Do you mean Liverpool Victoria?

I insure my car with Frizzell (a LV subsidiary) - they gave me by far the cheapest quote.

Apparently I do! Thanks, KLB. Original post amended - albeit that is not reflected in the quote.....

Well just started the search.. Havent got a renewal from DL yet but..

Liverpool Victoria -

Paul, if you insure with Norwich Union Direct, be aware that they will not insure my 4X4 if I chip it, ie they are not mod-friendly. When you get quotes, are you asking if the insurer will cover mods should you decide to go that route in the future?

Norwich Union didn't quote me happy - nearly

I got a good deal with E-sure -but I'm an old git. (Cue Michael Winner impression....)

I know what you are saying Rob, but that is just robbery by another name, if you pay monthly in advance, then you are infact paying them for insurance cover for which they have not yet provided you with! In my opinion insurance companies are a gang of money robbing so n' so's, even **** Turpin wore a mask! So infact you should charge them intrest for not being more efficient and providing the cover when you purchase it! See what they say if you ask them. :D :D

Damo

Damo, taking your line of argument one step further, if you don't claim on your insurance you shouldn't have to pay the insurance company anything, ie the only people who should have to pay for their cover are those that claim. And going the final step, those people should pay for any damage and personal injury claims out of their own pockets.
