emoticon-0103-cool.gifSEEN THE NEWS SKODA TO RUN IN THE F1!!!, they are taking over from the prost can wait to see thatemoticon-0148-yes.gif

Link?

Prost haven't been in F1 for many years now.

Yes, but the team still exists and there is avplace on the grid. Pristine bought the team with mclarens to run as a second development team before the sharing of proprietary data was banned.

I have been expecting the VAG group to get into F1 but I would have thought it would have been with Porsche or bently or VW

Might be due to skoda already having the experiance from rallying

Skoda has bought prosts dept from the liquidators and will in the future to run in FORMULA 1 but !!! VAG are not happy the link thing i cant do, its on the bbc website

I can't find it?

Found a similar story from 2002 but nothing recent.

BBC MOTORSPORT

They were speculating about this 10 years ago; thought it implausible then. Mind I wonder now if getting a vRS to 227 has gone to their head :D

I've heard rumours that VW may go into F1, possibly when F1 changes to 1.6 Turbo's. I've not anything about Skoda. However next year you will hopefully see a Skoda Octavia in the British Touring Car Championship.

Erm... What has this thread got to do with Fabia 2's?

Skoda are going into touring cars, perhaps a bit of a mix up?

It would be cool, because it would finally kill the "its a skoda" stigma, since 90% of road manufacturers dont have an F1 team.

Suprised VW aren't in it to be honest, but they are in Rally and other fairly major racing events so no doubt use that for road car development as its close to what road cars are like, instead of F1 where the tech does, eventually filter down but usually just in the fancy super cars.

Hi chris how's it hanging great news aye ;)

Just been searching online and nothing about F1 comes up apart from rumours back in 2002.

Unless prost have found a way to pay concorde agreement fees and not race then this isn't possible. You have to pay the fees AND compete.

There are no spare grid spaces as these now belong to lotus, hrt and virgin. Unless one of these folds and VAG buy them up or the FIA tender grid slots out again, there is no way in for VAG.

VAG have.long shunned f1 which may or may not be a wise stance. Certainly sales aren't suffering!

Wise i would think...
