Best RARB?

Featured Replies

Is the best RARB the Jabba?

I have the Whiteline (I believe) but Ross' car is so much nicer, it LOOS's a lot more and yeah...

Where's the cheapest place to get it? At £244.29 (Jabba's website) that's quite a lot for a bar...

Take a few measurements, make your own?

It's not really rocket science, but a straight forward operation.

Got mine (well the other half did when she owned the car) for £100 second hand, so keep em peeled.

But being as it's a Jabba bar made for them, you ain't going to get it elsewhere.

Yeah I think I'll wait, nearly £250 is a serious whack. If anyone knows of anyone selling gimme a shout.

Whiteline.

Bear in mind, Whiteline only make suspension components........This is their bread and butter. Don't think Jabba put as much R&D into it as Whiteline.

What do you mean it feels nicer? It oversteers easily?

Any RARB is better than none ;)

I had the Whiteline one on my Fabia , it lasted well , as sooooooooooooooo much fun

Just go for a Whiteline and enjoy

As I siad , a ARB is better than none , so do it!!!!!

I have the Whiteline now and it doesn't feel great, but Ross' feels firmer and oversteers with ease

Surely unless your other suspension components are exactly the same as what Ross has its not really a proper comparison

We had the same coilovers at the same height, same front strut brace, same rear strut brace, same wheel/tyre profile dimensions, same tyres, same tyre pressure + nitrogen, same rear brakes, same front brakes, same pads, same car, same exhaust, same turbo, same FMIC, same PD160, same air-filter, etc. It's a proper comparison IMO!

Well in that case I would tend to agree with you  does he feel a difference driving your car?

Ya

I think you're missing the point here. Why would you want it to oversteer with ease? The aim of the RARB is to enhance handling, and make it drive faster.........The last thing I want on track, is the back end wandering 'cause it's too stiff!

If it's oversteering too easily, it's too stiff. If you want the car to drive faster, stay Whitline. If you want it to oversteer and the back end twitching all over, fit a stiffer one.

But Ross' car feels much more stable through the corners, but if you try to oversteer it you can, on mine its near impossible

Also under braking my rear goes everywhere, Ross is planted

Have you got your LSD fitted yet?

True, but it's said that the fastest a FWD car goes (on track) is just before it spins out with oversteer. Whether by hard springs or by a massive RARB. Arguably, the OP should fit stiffer rear springs...

I recall reading an article about small hatches on track. "Don't lift mid-bend" was the advice from all of the owners to the Journo. They were all (relatiely) cheap cars in various racing series though.

In response to the OP, there is no best RARB. For you, probably the Jabba bar. try Ibiza/Polo/here for group buys. They used to come along every now and then.

I'd say that for those with VRS standard suspension or minor lowering, it's a toss-up between Whiteline and Jabba.

For softer sprung Fabias, I'd guess the Whiteline.
