rat menace

Featured Replies

It seems that Rats have taken a particular liking to the lid of the windshield washer fluid tank. With so many plastic parts around including wires and cables, I fail to understand why only the cap of the washer fluid reservoir. Can any one throw some light on this matter, and hey, how do I deal with this?

I can only think that they are attracted by the smell of the fluid inside?

Rat Poison seems to be the obvious solution? Thank your lucky stars they aren't going for the electrics!!

Yes I too think the washer fluid smell attracts ,yes rat poison should do the trick but then I have to find a way to keep it there or replenish supplies every night. :wonder:

You want to be replenishing supplies, because if it's going, then the buggers are eating it and won't be bothering you again :)

Keep replenishing until they stop eating it. Then they are deid.

A big cat.

And feed him only in the morning.

Perhaps it's the alcohol in the screen wash that attracts them.

Ah well, at least he died in a stupor, hopefully happy..... :(

There won't just be the one. Rats are very much NOT solitary animals. Keep baiting even when you think the last one is dead. My mate had/has a rat problem. It turned into a very long war of attrition. He's now finally on top of it (just) after about 2 years!

Rats are incredible animals - they will even chew/gnaw/claw their way through concrete and mortar to get at a food source.

My old cat was killed because of her love of climbing in the engine bay of my old Honda to keep warm. Poor thing dropped out of the bottom of the car at 30 mph (I didn't know she was there :-(.

I never had any problems with rats though!

yeah right, just to be on the safe side i laid out the bait again last night, sure enough it was chewed up today morning. Have to persevere till the bait is untouched, and also maybe keep changing the brand, variety!!! :giggle:
