My wife currently drives an '09 plate 1.9 Tdi Scout. It's ideal for carting the dog about, hence it's name 'The Moose Mobile' (The dog is called Moose) and chucking my MTB in the back of. As I smash about in a Fabia II Vrs I'd like to improve hers somewhat. The things I'd like to improve are as follows:

Fit Cruise Control. Can you just buy the stalk from Skoda and fit it yourself or are there certain electrical checks/procedures that are required.....

Improve the power. How easy and costly are they to remap or chip.....

Improve the handling - Are new anti roll bars easy to install.....

How easy are these things to achieve.....

Answers on a postcard.....

Evening,

most of the answers you're looking for are in my thread HERE

If retro fitting cruise control is similar to the Fabia Mk1 then I'd imagine it'l just be a case of buying and fitting the stalk and coding it with VCDS.

HTH

Map and ARB make a useful upgrade. The car should feel pretty decent with those.

ARB isn't too hard to fit, a couple of good clamps help on the install. Turn in is much improved after.

Now, if the gearchange can be made a little less rubbery , that would complete the package.

Whats VCDS?

VCDS is what took over from VAG-COM.

It's the computer interface that interrogates your cars ECU for diagnostic purposes. Allows you to activate or modify different parameters of the the cars "brain"

This needs to be done by Skoda I take it?

nope, loads of people on here own vcds machines

i would suggest a rear anti roll bar first.. leave the front for the time being.

see how the car feels, it should inspire more confidence... if it does then remap the car(don't pay more than £300 and take it too a well known VAG remapper)

cruise control can be done at any point, you will need to ask people here to see who has a vcds and if they live near you.

Nice one. Just need to find someone in the Reading area that has one (after I've bought the cruise control stalk hat is).....

Yep meant to say rear ARB, that does the job for tidy handling. Makes the most of the remap that way.

Thanks also for the link for the short shifter. looks like that may be a useful mod.
