Tour of Britain Skoda Yetis!

Featured Replies

I'll try and get better photo/s when I nip out @ 2 to catch the end of the race. Tour of Britain stage is finishing on the seafront right outside my office. These two are currently parked on the prom. Best my phone could do from a fair distance....

If it ends up as a sprint finish you might be able to see how fast Mark Cavendish is compared to the mongrel

With all the commotion(sp?) today I elected to cycle down from home. Roads are shut everywhere around the office. I did wonder if I could join the track about 1/4 mile before the end, about a minute ahead of the racers and win it :D

1/4 mile and a minute in front?

So judging by the pics there must be at least 8 Yetis following the tour...

7 TV cars and the commentator,

Plus all the Skoda team casts and the commissairs.

That's a whole load of great cars in the public eye

As far as I could tell the teams were using Octavia support cars, and the commentator was in the bronzey Yeti. The others were all sat at the finish line the whole day so suspect they were there for promotional, and maybe support for the setting up of the finish. It was a mammoth bit of work that went into making the seafront the finish line! :)

I love that tangerine colour - just lush !!!

I have to say the drivers of these Yeti's don't hang round. I followed TV 1 and TV 2 along the M54 the other day. I was doing 80 and I thought I'd broken down when they passed me.

Also becuase of the tour Skoda have no demo yeti's available so I've got to wait for a 48hr demo vehicle :o(

I hope you didn't get out to see what was wrong?

yes it is nice.

Got to admit though thats it looks more red than orange.

In fact it looks different in every picture that I see of the tangerine. :S

I notice the white Skoda yetis have the new Skoda Logo on the side.
