Dont you have something like a certificate of compliance for the rim?

Of course, I always use the German "Gutachten" documents as reference, so I'm sure that the rims I choose are a good fit to my car and strong enough. The "Gutachten" document for my Rial Milano rims can be found here.

I've ordered:

- 8 steel 16'' wheels and trims from the dealer;

- 4 Dunlop Wintersport 4d (94) for my Superb;

- 4 Conti Wintercontact 830P (91) for my wife's Octavia.

All in, about £850 for the tyres, and £400 for the wheels and trims. Not bad for premium tyres for 2 cars. Should keep us moving for longer this winter.

For steel wheels, do you use the standard Skoda supplied wheel bolts? (I guess so, the spare in mine is a 205x55x16 steel wheel.)

OE VAG wheels use the same bolts whether the the wheels are steel or alloy.

If they are non genuine then you would need to check them.

PIcked up a set of Thermisto OEM Wheels on EBay. They had been kerbed and scratched. Had them stripped, rough areas smoothed off and deep scratches filled, and then powder coated in a dark grey. Now fitted with AVON Ice Touring Tyres.

Wheel Rims £260 and the refurbishment which includes Powder Coating £160. The refurb is not pefect as you can still see some minor imperfections even though they have had two coats, but you have to look hard to see them. Went for a dark graphite grey with a 70% gloss. My new Combi which is on order is going to be in White and I think these will look stunning on it.
