Mk ! VRS Opinions

Featured Replies

ok maybe a little crazy coming to a skoda forum asking this but im hoping you all be up front and honest as all cars have floors we suffer as the pluss' makes us happy.

Now after considering my options of new cars like clios fabias and even corsas im starting to feel the best blend of sport feel and good MPG may come from the 2nd hand market in a more mangeable cost.

Now obviously the VRS Fabia came to mind for a few reason, first rembering seeing the test by Top Gear (againest a simlery priced at the time mini cooper) and think 5th gear did it too.

what i want get down do is what floors does the fabia have.

Firstly what appears to be one issue im guessing is that big heavy diesel engine in a FWD car must give it some underteer and guessing calls for shares in a tyre suppiler of your choice lol.

and another thing i seem to gather is other then the seats and gear knob and a few bits of leather nothing on the inside seems to set it apart from is other models.

other then looking at the figures and speaking to customers i deal with who drive VRS Fabia it seems very few have any complaints.

sorry for going on but and info tips advice all welcome, as i hoping to start some serious searching shortly to buy either side of xmas, so wana know what im letting myself in for.

The big heavy diesel engine is not much of a flaw. Sure you get a bit of extra understeer.

The car be tamed with an anti roll bar and the weight up front gives good traction for a FWD in my opinion.

Overall it's a good little package with more minor flaws than major flaws. Like one flaw which is the rear doors letting in a little water sometimes. But flaws like this can be solved.

sounds good, what done it for me was a customer with a 54plate one was in to have the ABS unit changed which parts alone was £600, the good news was it was it was covered by a warranty, but despite this quite expensive falure rather then question the car she could stop raving about it. to me that can only be a good sign

In my view its one of the most complete car packages ever! Even people with much more "exotic" cars always seem to tip there hat to the fabia vRS. In my view and I do call a spade a spade. There well priced, well put together, good neat handling (still can be improved), great running costs, wonderful to drive, plenty of space, look tasteful and subtle, comfy espically on long trips and very quick. Be in and owned many diffrent cars in my time. Thats why I love my vRS

It does look biased being on a skoda forum but if I truthfully thought my car was a lump of s*** I would more than kindly say.

If you looking at buying one. As always least owners the better, lower millage you can get, full service history, make sure cambelt and water pumps have been replaced when they are needed make sure rear doors arnt leaking (only real problem in my view) other than that cant really say you will go wrong. Like with all cars there is lemons about!

Mate is so impressed with mine his looking at getting one himself so will be carting around with him to find a nice tidy example :p

well i work at a dealer and have been tip to that a really clean one may crop depending if our reps can convince him to order a new VRS

Just took car down to Bath today and loved every minute of driving it. Yes it has been remapped but considering I came from three Peugeot 306 GTi6s plyus a Autocar Red Rallye shootout winner that is genuine praise from me. Stonking torque.

Best car I've ever owned.

Looks good, nice place to sit, cheap to run, fast as fook, and big enough for a little car.

My biggest complaint? 2 litre washer bottle.
