Took delivery of my Fabia Greenline 11 diesel 1.2 hatchback two weeks ago today. Already covered 800 miles and loving it. Took me a couple of hundred miles to get used to the 'high' hydraulic clutch and the rather high gear ratios once out of first! Not sure yet if I will miss a spare wheel and jack etc but I'm assured the tin of whatever it is will be more than surfice if I get a punture on a cold and wet windy night!

The Fabia replaced a six year old Punto Multijet which never realised less than 76 m.p.g. whatever I done with it. The Fabia hasn't matched that yet but I'm assured my new car must be run in slowly, then wait for the results. We'll see!

A very pleasant surprise this afternoon. Noticed a sticker above my head on the windscreen advising a telephone number to ring in event of a breakdown. Rang it to see where it went and was advised I belong to the R.A.C. for the next three years free of charge. I was never advised of this by my supplier!

I ordered the car six months ago via an online firm offering to beat any price on a quote. At the time Skoda were offering their cars with no V.A.T. on a deal. I offered my quoted price to this online firm and yes they beat my quote so ordered there and then. I've had to wait exactly six months for delivery but well worth it. As an aside , the 'discounted price' from my supplier is now £2.5 k higher than when I ordered so feel pleased.
