Can someone throw a little light onto exactly Canbus is please, as regular reference is given to the term throughout the Forum(s)?

I have presumed that it is the car electronic control system, but I'm not sure and are there any issues that I should be aware of i.e. problems or gremlins / necessary beneficial upgrades / opportunities not set as standard, etc.

Please forgive any naivety.

Its the method by which.the various electrical parts are connected in the car. Basically it can see these items and detect faults such as bulb failure.

Thanks for that both - more aware now. I take it that the Skoda canbus gets in the way of many after purchase extras you might want to fit, such as LED's etc as mentioned by a number of entries in the forum?
