Fitting coilovers...

Featured Replies

I've just ordered myself some coilovers for my vrs, I'm just wondering what other items do I need to allow me to remove the old std suspension and fit the coilys directly on the car?

The coilovers ive ordered are KW Varient 1's.

Worth while changing the top mounts at the same time depending on the condition of your current ones.

Haha cheers for that people, gonna order myself a set of top mounts saves me swapping them over and it's just a case of fitting the new units directly onto the car.

Gonna paint the STD wheel's white soon with a red pearl over the top, just need to find/borrow a set of wheels from someone for a week whilst I do them

Lol I'm sure I will be fine, after all I drove a classic Mini which was lowered and never had much back problems haha

Or something that resembles it

WD40 will be your best friend :) also before putting the new coilies on put loads of copper grease on the thread which will mean they won't seize up :) and you will need some shortened drop links if you kit doesn't come with some :)

No you won't, not with the KW V1's

Thanks guys, I have plenty of Duck oil about and got myself a 4 poster ramp so should make life easy. A wedge will suffice for splitting the hub I believe?
