Rear beam Bushes

Featured Replies

Had my car in the air the other day and when I barred the the rear bushes the whole rear end shifts about.

So it's that time !!

Options and opinions all greatly recived

Is there some LCR ones around ??

Are superpro too hard ??

Powerflex are proabaly crap going on personnel experience

So whats it gonna be ??

Rear axle bushes

I fitted these to her Golf a couple of years ago, they're solid rubber (no rear wheel steering voids), they're made by Febi Bilstein and are lasting well.

My home made press used to get them in

It needed some improvisation to get the bushes in for the last 10mm or so

I've got Superpro ones, but not yet fitted them. So I can't tell you what they're like, just that's the way I'm going (if that's any help?). Part of my decision was I didn't want the hassle of pressing in OEM ones, and it's a job I only intend doing once! :giggle:

Rob Clubley has superpro too. Mat Ames used Fabia ones IIRC?

SuperPRO easy to fit, no press needed. Really nice and not too hard at all.

Fabia vRS bushes, Really nice but need pressing in.

I have the kit mate if you need to use.

Yep, I have Fabia vRS ones, I pressed them in using a home made tool and some waxoil as lub.

What makes the fabia vrs one's better then the octy?

I have superpro ones in mine carnt really tell much difference over standard apart from the horrible banging noises my worn out standard ones were making

the fabia ones are stronger I think and have a cover on them. have a look thru Bowders1 countless guides lol. he did one for it

ne mind no pics in it.

Cheers Mark

Although I am probably gonna sub this out as I can't be arsed lol

Just noticed today that the rear tyres are considerably worn on the inside edge compared to the rest of the tyre

I'm guessing this would be as the bushes are shot ??

Don't be a cop out. it's easy.. :smirk:

Yes if bushes are shot the tyres can wear due to the uneven movement of rear beam. I had this on mine before i did bushes.
