Ok, after phoning around I've had some quite generous part exchange offers for the car so I need to get a standard exhaust on the thing.

Let me know if you want to make an offer on the exhaust.

Can you put me down for the evoms please

Yup added.

Want a nice exhaust to go with it? Instant stage 2! :)

Could you get a replacement exhaust from a scrap yard cheap enough to replace your nice exhaust and then keep your nice exhuast for sale?

  • Author

Yes I would go down that route Matt but no exhausts area available on the few that are breaking on eBay and an (admittedly half hearted) internet search didn't reveal any obvious Skoda specialist scrappers.

Don't suppose you know of any?

Regarding the kit you're waiting for, I've got all the stuff down from the loft so just need to find some time to swap the easy stuff over - I'm away this weekend unfortunately (Pepper Pig World!) but shouldn't be too long.

Tim.

I'm here if you want to do a straight swap for the cat back ;)

  • Author

No, but I'd swap your full system for my cat back....

I always think our signatures/car specs are having an argument when we post in the same thread emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Tim,

The closet VAG scrapyard that I know of to me is Motors In Motion nr Worksop so a fair trek for you but they do offer a courier service :thumbup:Motors in motion ebay link not sure if its a petrol though.

I went through something similar when I sold my mk1 octavia vrs, I wanted to return the exhaust to standard but had left it in the loft when we moved house :( it took me a while but in the end a guy on here drove 200miles to swap them over

Theres no rush with those bits for me

Thanks Matthew, I did try that one but the exhaust isn't available unfortunately - I submitted a few requests to those online sites that ping out emails to all the scrappies up and down the country but I've had nothing through today.

Never mind, if I truly can't get rid of it then I'll just trade it in as it is - limits my choice a little but enough people have said they will have it.

I'm actually surprised at the lack of interest, I jumped at the chance to trade in my OEM exhaust initially - I would say the price is putting people off but I've not even had any offers through :dull:

(though saying that, I'm surprised at the general lack of interest in the car given the current price so the surprises are fading somewhat!)

I did speak to SWMBO about your car and spent quite alot of time working out if I could afford to change to your car. I don't do much milage anymore but its still enough for a diesel to be my prefered engine (especially when towing the caravan).

Its a shame really as your car has everything (but the towbar) that I would like in a car

Ha ha ha no you're not having your old DP back B)

I don't think I've seen your 280bhp dyno?

There will be a little addition to mine soon courtesy of a k04 :)

No, I mean I'll swap your full OEM system for the Piper cat back - can't remember if you butchered your OEM DP when you de-catted my old Piper DP though.

That's because I don't have one :) It made 274.2bhp prior to the de-cat so I've taken creative license with the remaining 5.8 bhp. Did yours make 280bhp on a Dyno Dynamics rolling road? ;)

Glad you're going K04, wish I had made the jump a couple of years ago really.

I think when I sell I'll be putting mine back to standard like you so I'll need the original setup. I just smashed the cels out of yours and kept my original Downpipe intact.

No it made 280.5bhp on a Dyno Dynamics RR, I have the dyno print out.

I've been out horse powered emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I don't think there will anything between them TBH.

Have you thought of splitting the dp and cat back to sell seperatly?

It's an option, but I'd need to find 2 buyers, both willing to px, they'd both need to turn up on the same day (unless theirs was off the car like yours is) etc etc - getting too complicated realistically.

It's a shame really as to the right person it's a cracking deal, but it's the time factor in waiting for that person to come along.

You have to re-consider Matt, you know you have to B)

Its such a shame to see such little interest in a car like this. It's a bargain price for all the work done to it.

I would love to reconsider but I can't :'(

Tim's car is lovely and in a good state of tune, not to mention perfect for the next step up too  .
