I'd like to do this, but I'd prefer to go to the circuit first for a track day to get used to the layout a bit.

Good idea and sounds fun as it'll be more competitive than a normal track day. It'll sort the men from the boys but you can only compare similar cars other wise it's a bit pointless. My tdi v's radical sr3 lol!
