Contrasting Experiences

Featured Replies

When I purchased my Superb in 2009 I took out a full maintenance contract, including tyres. Last weekend, with the front nearing the end of their useful life, I entered one of the VW approved tyre repairers to be told "....... not possibe to change as VW approvals can only be done during the normal working week, and not at weekends. Can only change if illegal. ...........". In my opinion, buying the tyre option was not a clever move as I have had 4 non-repairable punctures (not covered)and will have had only six tyres during the 3 years and 55K miles.

Secondly I had both side light bulbs go in the headlight unit this weekend. A quick look at the manual suggested that as they were Xenon lights, that I should take the car to the dealers. Had a look myself and did not fancy trying to change them due to my alrge hands and a very small aperature to get to them. Phoned Monday 9:10am, told to drop by servicing at 2:00pm. By 2:17pm I was driving away from dealers relieved of £27 and some change - great service from Garland Motors of Aldershot.
