drivers footwell damp

Featured Replies

Just noticed doday that the driver footwell is very wet. The passanger back on driver side is also a bit damp. When I lift the mat it is mainly wet in the centre. I work in an office so don't think its from my shoes.

I know about the passenger footwell and the pollen filter. Never heard of the driver side.

Any ideas.

bonnet release cable, follow it from bay into scuttle, then check the grommit that goes thro the bulkhead

Had a look and grommet in place and in ok condition.

Have had a good look and its only damp in the middle, just going to see if it dries out.

Dampness might have built up under the mat which had a hole where I place my heel. ( Need to get a new set)

Lets see if it dries up before the weekend

Was not too bad the last few days. Not much rain. Todays lots me rain and when I went out there was a pool in the drivers footwell.

Dam

door membranes?

is the scuttle pannel clear of leaves and debris?

the channels at the end can block and cause water to come in through the scuttle, tho would most likely be on the passenger side where the airbox is although any rubber grommit not fitted properly would then allow water to enter.

prob the drivers door membrane - if when you open the door there is water on the rubber seal trim between door and carpet it is definately leaking - you basically need to get a new one!!!

+1 i also have this problem, Im wondering if it was the other week when i drove through some deep puddles. The car is alot lower and im wondering if the water has come up through the floor. It seems to be slap bang in the middle of the drivers side carpet as opposed to the edge near the door suggesting its not the rubber door seal

bulkhead grommits if not in place could allow this to occur.

there should be no holes in the floorpan itself
