Fabia estate key fob

Featured Replies

Has anyone else had problems with the Skoda electronic key fob? Twice now, after having topped up the screenwash and dropped the bonnet lid, I’ve found it would not operate the locks and today, somehow, set off the alarm after I’d tried various combinations to operate it correctly...?

I’m wondering if it could be a loose connection, maybe dislodged when closing the bonnet. Only by removing the keyfob battery, then replacing it could I stop the alarm, and use the fob normally. Weird.

You may need to restart the fob key, put the key in drivers door and turn key clockwise and keep it in that position for a few seconds then turn anti clockwise and remove it then give it a try

Amazing! Thank you. How did you discover this? I'll certainly try it next time if

the fault happens again - far better than prising open the keyfob each time to get

at the battery.

Loads of info on here, you'd be amazed all your doing by.

Removing the battery is redoing the key, by doing the door thing you are re-establishing the key and car together , but if you still have issues you may require a new battery , as low power in the battery could also cause this issue, happy to help ;)

I think it's in the manual...

I might give that a try myself.

My Fabia GLII is only a week old and when I checked the 2nd key fob it would do everything except lock the car. If your tip doesn't work I'll ask Skoda for a new one.

Should work fine ;)

Sadly it didn't work so I'm off to the local Skoda dealer at the weekend.

:( we tried anyways

I "almost" have the same issue.. after arriving at location and getting out of the car, sometimes the car does not lock with remote.. Instead I have to lock it with the key.
