another problrm

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

My 53 plate fabia VRS has thrown up another problem, yesterday when i started the engine to drive to work the external temp reading was -45 degrees C. it was 6 o@clock in the morning in Aberdeen but i know it was not nearly that cold, since then it varies from -40 to -45! is this just a shagged temp sensor somewhere? any ideas where,

i also have a little bit of white smoke coming from the exhaust and i am well down on power, even when up to full temp.

Finally even with the traction control on it just wheel spins and goes side-y ways in the rain, i love it! but worried about the wife driving it! and don't want to have to buy new tyres every couple of months. any ideas of where to start?

was thinking it could be a knackered ABS sensor? ABS kicks in too often aswell i.e braking for a junction last week, slight rain and the ABS kicked in but didn't seam to slow me down, had to drop a gear and use the handbrake!

Any help or Advice is more than welcome.

cheers folks

need to get it scanned 1st see wot it shows.

The outside temperature sensor is on the front of the bumper. I'm not sure how easy it is to remove it without taking the entire bumper off.

as you look at the front of the car its on the right hand side down by the fog light, id imagine ud have to remove the bumper or at least just pull it off abit

It has 3 small prongs securing it into the bumper.

Can be removed just using fingers without bumper off.

Just squeeze a couple of the prongs together and push it through.
