I have been quoted £250 for a stage one remap on my Octavia TDI CR VRS DSG by Powertune in Widnes . Is this a fair price and will I reap the benefits ie is it really worth getting it done as the car feels quick enough as it is ??? Any opinions please ???

Hi bud, I have a mate who has had his petrol seat 1.8 20vt remapped and he has seen good gains in performance i.e. quicker throtle responce, less turbo lag but the most noticeable is the increase in torque, and with your car being diesel it will be the same accept you should see an even greater increase in torque.

I have one question for you, if the car feels fast enough for you now and you are happy with it, why waste £250, wait until you are bored with it's performance and then get get it remapped, it would be like having a new car for next to nothing.

I don`t live far away from you, and have heard some bad reviews about Powertune in the past, be careful. I would try Awesome GTi or Shark as previously mentioned maybe?

Might be an issue with ecu protection on yours, so check that first.

As said you will need ECU out on it same as I and all diesel CR's post approx October 2010 have needed £250 sounds good but do they realise its an ECU out job if not price might change id want to know they had done one before also at that and speak to the person. Also mentioned above Shark Performance will be a longer drive and cost more but you get what you pay for and it would offer you total peace of mind track record on here 110%. (dunno if they still offer a discount for freedom members on here if so defo worth it)
