All Interior Lights On When Door Opens?

Featured Replies

This is something my Toledo 20VT friend of mine bugs me about. When a door opens, all (front and rear) lights switch on while in our Octavia only the front ones do.

I'd really like the rear ones to switch on as well as it'd make easier buckling the baby seat in the dark. Also the boot (Combi) lights would be nice to switch on :)

Any ideas on a way around this?

TIA

What lights in the rear? I don't think I have any:confused:

Checked my UK spec Combi Elegance. When a front door is opened the driver's courtesy light, both front reading lights, and door open warning light come on. The twin rear reading lights (Elegance and L&K only) stay off, as do the two boot lights. Any reason why you can't reach up above the rear door and switch a rear reading light on, otheos? The option is to do some rewiring. :(

Might not be that easy. AFAIK, even the interior lights are controlled by the CANBUS. :(

I have a vague idea that there's a "Body Control Unit" lurking somewhere, which manages all the locks and lights - that would have to be reprogrammed.
