headunit fitment in octy

Featured Replies

has anyone got a pic of what the back of the dash looks like where the headunit sits? mine appears to have been cut up so there is no back support for my headunit resulting in bad skipping :(

I have a simillar problem, my headunit wobbles a bit because its slightly to short to reach the support at the back. I think most of the support comes from the cubby hole installed under the HU. I ended up making the metal frame that holds the headunit so secure I dont think it will come out very easily. Even so on really bumpy surfaces the hu still rattles a bit.

isn't there a threaded bolt on the back of the nak you can unscrew to "extend" the rubber nipple (ooerr) to fit in the hole at the back?

there isn't a hole in the back, this is wht i need a pic! when i got the car it had a kenwood dvd set up that was quite deep so the installer must of cut the back support section out :(

Had to reinstall my headunit yesterday, because the connectors, I used before, produced static noise and I had also serious trouble with my Nokia 91K handsfree set . ( Yes , I had an acoustical rpm counter too .... )

After dismounting the glovebox I could reach with one hand behind the

headunit to get the wiring out of the way and let it "lock in" easily ...

So far all went well until I really needed 4 (!!!!! ) hours to get the headunit locked safe and the wiring sorted ( Time included a longer bicycle tour to the dealer to buy a power supply connector as a replacement for the one I have torn off by misluck and reconnect it

The "hand through the glovebox hole" method is only work for little kids or

gynaecologists ... I lost lots of flesh during this action...

As I finally had it running and locked, I tested (nearly) all functions before

assembeling it all ...

As I was done, i noticed, the radio recieving has gone :mad::mad:

So I have to do it all again in the next days ...

But before, I
