Featured Replies

hi can anyone recommend a parrot handsfree that will go with iphone?? and how hard wuld it be to fit into mk1 octavia vrs with mfd unit ?

any help appriciated

Both our cars are fitted with Parrot 3100 Handsfree kits, myself and Swmbo have iPhones and they work perfectly every time

Bought the kits off Amazon and had them fitted by an auto sparky.

Don't know if it helps, but I had a Novero kit fitted to my Scout (with the touchscreen head-unit) - it was a fairly new on the market when fitted last year.

So far its been very good - and allows you to pair a number of phones, and have any 2 active at one time (although you can only dial out on 1).

It was about £120 fitted.

Oh, and the fitter had same kit fitted to his van and it worked perfectly with his iPhone, including streaming his music.

I've got a Novero TrulyOne fitted in mine!

Really happy with it!

I've had the best experience with Parrot kits. I'm not convinced the extra functionality of the MKi iPod kits ate worth paying for and have used the most basic ck3000 Evo kits with no issues. Combine one with an Élan Intellimute and the are plug and play. I don't know if the mk1 is CANBUS do you either have to find switched power if you use a cheap SOT lead or the intellimute which works with CANBUS and couldn't be simpler but they're more expensive.

Nokia CK200 works well with the iPhone including the new 4S. Easy to install with a radio link loom, has a neat screen that you can alter the text colour to match your dash colour, steering wheel remote that allows you to have 2 phones paired at the same time AND switch between either to make or answer calls instantly. Approx £85

Depends what you want it to do -a more basic kit has less to go wrong and is less desirable to thieves.

I wanted a display and Bluetooth audio streaming -I also wanted the display and controller to be separated as a convenient location for the hand is not necessarily so for the eye, I went for MKi9100 -had it a couple of months and so far very happy with it. I have no experience of the other wired-in kits other than playing with demo units in shops. I previously had a Parrot Minikit Slim and there is no comparison - a wired-in kit is far, far superior.

it looks great but wouldnt chavs/scums think it is a sat nav and try and steal it?

Don't know which post that you're referring to, but on the Parrot MKi range the displays and controllers are both removable and can be hidden out of sight -you even get a little velvet bag in which to store the display. The CK range are not removable, but they're a lot more discreet, I spoke to the people who installed mine about theft as I was initially going to get the CK3100 -he said he'd never heard of that model getting stolen as thieves know that all the gubbins are buried behind trim and the controllers are not worth anything.

Sorry -post duplicated for some reason

Regardless of what model you have fitted (if it's just for handsfree go for the CK3100) have the display fitted somewhere on the facia and not on top of the dashboard. If it's on top it can be mistaken for sat-nav and could be a target for thieves.
