Theyre only going to be checked if you have xenons surely???

Don't get why people on here seem to get on their high horse sometimes. Just saying.

I call dipped beams main beams.

Main beam

Full beam

Ah right lol

Which he has fitted/fitting

Pretty sure currently headlamp washers aren't tested anyhow, I think at the moment levelling and wash only needs to be fitted when xenons are factory fitted but this is one of the things they are looking to change (or might have done by now).

Im more interested in cars with headlight washers and standard headlights (not xenons)

Octavias have standard headlamps with washers, but to be honest for all the good they actually do might as well just keep them clean.

I put the exact wording in the other thread of Luke's, but at the moment it reads that:

There's no distinction between factory xenons and an aftermarket kit, they will both be tested the same way

Washers and levelling aren't a requirement, but if they're fitted then they must work (which is why I was asking about the covers, as they will give the impression that washers are fitted and therefore they must work, which they won't = reason for rejection)
