Diesel leak

Featured Replies

Pulled up at home and noticed fuel leaking from the plastic end of a long finned thin box like fitment mounted under the cer on the drivers side at about B post area to late to mess with tonight looked in the haynes manual but could find no mention of this box. (i think these manuals are no where near coprehensive enough there are things all over that i look at and thin wots that do / wots this for ) before i look does any body know what it is what its for does it come apart / will i have to buy a complete unit ??

Thanx

Sounds like the diesel cooler. Situated under drivers side about a foot long with cooing fins

Think you can get them seperate from pipework

Il have to check mine later.

Wierd it would have plastic parts being deisel!

Tom

You must have a 130PD? As a diesel cooler isn't fitted to the 90 or 110. Also the Haynes manual I don't think covers the 130 specifically.

Anyhow, I would agree with Thomas, it sounds like the cooler. Someone else had a similar issue about 6 months ago, so a search might reveal a few more details.

Thank you to you and Tom today i had a look the plastic is just a cover for the two pipes that connect to the cooler this cover seems to be a ideal trap for road salt and grit this i beleive is the reason that one of the pipes now has a small hole in it that was doing i fine job of dumping that expensive motion lotion on the floor.

I could not tell if the pipes could be removed from the cooler and Satarday is not ideal to break things further and find every where closed.

as a temp repair i have sealed the leak with two part metal putty that seems to be holding up and got me mobile again.

Thanx again
