seat belt beeper

Featured Replies

Faff to do the belt up first? You need a kick up the exhaust pipe! It will take you 20 seconds... ONCE!

Do you find it a faff to lock the car when you leave it? I bet not, otherwise how much faff would there be filling out insurance clain forms?

Coding it out is all well and good but what happens when you come to sell it? will you re-code it or just leave it? Either way, coding will be more faff than buckling up THEN sitting down and this still leaves the sensible optio of having a beeper for other users PLUS you may well discover the beeper is a neccessary part of the vehicle as it is fitted as standard so, in the event of an accident, with or without the belt being applied, if noticed, the insurer COULD claim you modified the vehicle. They couls also claim this if you had a fake clip in the holder but you could very easily argue that you re-belted the seat after any accident. (If you are not threown through the windscreen and in a serious condition)

At the end of the day, as someone else said, just put the belt on... Job done. I find my Fabia's belt is so soft and flexible that it is the least hindering seat belt I have ever had, anyway!

mrgf did you actually read what I wrote? It doesn't appear so.

Yes it's a faff to plug the seatbelt in, sit on the belt drive round the yard then get out, unplug the belt then get back in again.

Not all cars have the warning so it is not a legal requirement IMO, when I come to sell the car I will ask the new owner if he wants it re enabled, my guess is he won't!

Is it just me but there seems to be an awful lot of patronising, holier than thou responses to what is a simple question? Chill out guys :p (standing by for a flaming) Half of the responses are like reading tabloid press

often with tounge firmly in cheek though!!!!

If you only want it for a limited time, shove your finger in the socket... That will stop it or just live with it! If you are genuinely only driving a short distace, say to open a gate, then fit the belt, the short distance of beeping or driving slower surely is not diffeicult. i think you are complaining about something just for the reason of moaning! I would wager a new owner would rather have standard than modified or at least, the knowledge of how to re-install themselves!
