Which induction kit?

Featured Replies

Hi , i have a octavia silverline 1.6 2003 and am confused to hell on what induction kit will fit ? one for the mk1 octavia looks like one to sit on top , how ever this couldnt fit under my bonnet , then the mk2 kit seems to stretch to the front which is where my battery is sat, any help ????

Are you looking at induction kits specific to the 1.6 engine? As all the ones I've seen are designed for the 1.8T or 1.9TDIs only. You'll probably find you can only get uprated panel filters for the 1.6

well have seen some K&N filters that are a cone filter, any1 know of the right one for that ? cheers for your help already guys :)

Fit a cone filter and you will lose power, not what you want on a 1.6 - I wouldnt bother personally.

Those are universal ones so you'd need to make your own pipe to go between the cone filter and the MAF sensor and sit the cone filter somewhere in the cool air flow from the bumper.

Probably cheaper and easier to just fit an uprated panel filter like this:

and drill a few extra holes in the airbox.

As already stated a cone filter in the engine bay drawing in hot air is going to lose you bhp.

K&N or a Green Cotton panel fliter are a much better option.

just get a new oe air filter - not the answer you want, but everything else will be a waste of time to be honest
