Flash Car Cleaning Kit (merged thread)

The only thing about it that appeals to me is the water filter. No more chammying cars dry again sounds ideal.....

Don't really see how just having the addition of the water filter will stop the need for drying? I've never found drying that much of a chore anyway. And here in Manchester we have pretty decent water I think, so streaking etc aren't a problem.

More info here

I've got one... It was 20 quid in tesco so I thought id give it a go... It's actually rather good if you just want to do a quick wash. Saves tons of time.

Of course you have pretty decent water in Manchester. It never gets dirty, every time I go it's raining

Anyone have any idea on what effect the special shampoo will have on your nicely waxed car? Wonder if it strips the wax off and then puts it's own stuff on...therefore negating all the hard work you might have already done.

Just a thought for all of you out there that take a lot of time and effort to get your car looking gleaming....

I used one on mine yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I was worried about stripping the wax, but the side of the box actually states that it won't strip it. One of the things I hate most about washing the car is drying it...we have bad water here...but I just did as directed, and left it to dry itself...not a mark on it...I'd certainly recommend it.

The only thing worth noting, is that the filter that ships with the starter pack is only good for 3 washes...the extras that you buy then do 10.

Cheers

i find drying very easy,i use a squeagie(sp) blade type thingymajig, gets almost all the water off, then chammy the tricky bits.

halfrauds will try and sell you a turtle wax one for a fair wedge,i bought one from a poundshop for a quid, funnily enough, works well on the house windows too :)

Hmm, might have to buy one. Im always scared about getting something on my leather then scratching the paint work with it. This sounds much easier

Got one of the cleaning kits in tesco yesterday and gave it a go in the afternoon.

Overall, thought it was pretty good, especially if you want a "lazy" way to give your car a quick clean. The shampoo as provided didn't shift really stubborn stains, but it did a good job aside from that. The "autodry" option (water filtered) didn't leave a single streak anywhere. When I washed the car last week I dried with a large turtlewax rubber blade, and there were streaks everywhere :)

So... would definitely keep using this, although will probably use tar shifter, etc, first on the nasty spots. Car certainly looked clean this morning...

(Biggest possible drawback is the weight of the unit might be an issue for some)

got one for a prezzy recently and thought 'well i might as well try it'.

really impressed ! black paintwork normally a bugger to stop streaks -did exactly what it said on the tin -no streaks and pretty quick job. also noticed the 3 wash cycle of the starter pack.

any updates on how much the refills are anyone?

interesting on the black paint as i have to say that this is the worst car i have ever owned for drying off! Black magic is a nightmare to keep cleen. So if this stuff does not strip wax and does not streak on black then i am off to buy it!!

Ive been using it dince it first came out,and am very impressed with the results....DONT use it on a hot sunny day ,or you will find a few streak's due to the shampoo drying on the car.

Looks like a bit of a con to me' date=' too good to be true etc etc

But would be interested to hear if anyone's tried it and their opinion?

It's not a con m8, it is the ONLY "shortcut / magic" product I have ever tried that works.

I have used it on the Impreza, Speed Triple, Wifes Picasso and even the downstairs windows and the conservatory. Every time I have had a spotless finish, and water would still bead on the cars / bike so I am certain it was not stripping the meguires off.

If you change the cannister at the stated period then it definatley does what it says on the tin. I would not be without it now.

Tony

Got to say I am very happy with it too!

I agree Black magic is a swine to keep clean but using the Flash thingy it dries without streaks even in bright sunshine. Gets a  from me.
