Flash Car Cleaning Kit (merged thread)

Featured Replies

Has anyone used the new Flash cleaning kit. Understand it's around

I hear there is a money back promise if you don't like it.

I've seen it advertised many times as well. Tempted to try it myself...

Costco in Oldham & Trafford centre sell it for about ten quid I think, so if you are a member of Costco buy it from there. They also sell other items like Mobil 1 oil as well.

Looks like a bit of a con to me, too good to be true etc etc

But would be interested to hear if anyone's tried it and their opinion?

Steev

I just caught the ad on telly... Would also be interested. Lots of talk about it filtering the water used to rinse...

I suppose that'll be to try and stop streaking when it's dried, from the floride/other minerals found in tap water?

If you can find one buy this week's Auto Express mag: full article on how to clean a car...even I learned something and I thought I knew it all :D:D

(but then I always was an arrogant so and so!)

It does have a few good tips that I hadn't given thoughts to.........

Highly recommend you track down a copy asap

Can anyone scan a copy of the Auto Express article in, sounds like an interesting read.

I suspect there would be some copyright issues with posting the scan up on the site...

I bought one the other day and used it for the first time today. I thought that I'd do a really good job, so even jacked up the car to take off the alloys and clean them properly. Although I could only do the fronts as the rears were stuck on solid (again!!, another trip to the garage).

Anyway, it worked well. As long as you leave it to dry itself and unlike my girlfriend choose to put the heated mirror on to dry the glass.

I cleaned the car normally and then went over it again with the Flash thing. It is fairly big in size and a few of my neighbours just looked at me, although made no comment (they see far too many other things happening at my house for a big blue thing to really become an issue!!).

The rinse just comes out as a jet, so unlike my Hozelok spray thing you can adjust the spray, it's either al or nothing. The shampoo is is Flash's own and the instructions advise that another may block the jet. So with the cost of the shampoo and the filters it could work out expensive if you've got more than one car to do.

I was quite pleased with the end result.

I presume people have seen the advert and the kit (about

Have a look here

OOps :banghead: Why have one thread when you can have 2? :(

(sorry, off there now.... :slap:)

Does the drying this actually work? Do you still need to dry it?

I did the same earlier aswell :o

A smear of copper brake grease on the hub faces will stop this once and for all.

call me a cinic, but when did flash start making car cleaning products?it'll be britta next filtered water for cleaning your car, pah!isn't that what a chamiox(sp) is for?wipe it off.

If you want to take the wheels off and they are stuck solid......gently pour hot water over the centre of the wheel ....after a couple of minutes give the tyre on each side a kick and the wheel will come off ........promise :)

I did wonder this myself. Suppose they've got a reasonable name in household cleaning, which will help them push stuff like car cleaning products to Joe Average. But I think I'll be sticking to more established names myself...
