I am after some advice - for my next company car I have whittled it down to two choice Super SE 170 or the Octavia VRS. I am torn between the extra kit and size of the superb and the handling and fun factor of the VRS. What are your thought?

I have to say I'd be Octy all day long. Better looking car. Is there no option to spec up a little bit more?

Exactly how big a car do you need? I've discounted the Octy as a potential next car as it is too big for my needs. The Superb is a bus!

Depends on a lot of things like how many miles you do, what do you want from the car?

The Superb rear end is IMO pretty ugly in the saloon / twinhatch, the estate however is pretty nice

The Superb is a more comfortable and generally nicer place to be in, it is also a fair bit quieter. Not saying the vRS is a bad car because it is far from that, but the Superb is in a slightly higher level.

The Superb is also very capable in the handling department at legal road speeds

ATEOTD you really need to drive both of them on an extended test drive to decide what is the better car for your requirements.

Wife, 3 Kids and a weimaraner to fit in it.

I have a Mondeo at the moment.

The Superb, get the estate is you can.

very compotent car, much nicer place to squeeze 3 kids into aswell.

much more comparable to a modern mondeo than the octy.

Depends what you need doesn't it?

Superb is better overall and bigger.

Octy is faster, looks nicer and is a more practical (IMO) size.

What do you yourself prefer?

Comfort and loads of space, or sportier and still more than enough space?

If doing a lot of miles per year, I would go for comfort. But then again, I am almost 50

Unless you specifically want a sporty car and are prepared to deal with the compromises that forces. i.e. hard suspension and road noise you'll probably be happier in the Superb.

Thanks guys think its gone be superb - but i did enjoy the vRS 5 day test. ;-)
