How do you tell the model year

Featured Replies

I am just about to get a S/H Superb first registered on 24/11/2009

How do I tell if the model year is 2009 or 2010 and what the build date is.

Is there a list anywhere of differences between the two model years.

I have the chassis number and Reg No

On that date it will be a 2010 model, I would expect it to have been made about 4-5 weeks before registration.

When I bought mine (delivered about a year ago) the dealer talked about it as a 2011. All my papers says 2010. And when I sell the car it will be treated as a 2010 by the very same dealer. :wall: Thats the way it is. Build date is (or should be) the only factor for so called model year. Everything else is smokescreens, IMHO.

I'm not trying to 'gain' a year!

I would like to determine when it was built and see what differences there are between a 2009 and 2010 model.

Normally the model year (MY) changes during the summer

I used to have an '09 Superb, the only difference I could tell was my DRL's were the front head lights (80% brightness - or something like that) and the '10 Superb's had the DRL's within the fog light unit.

The tenth digit of your VIN is the model year!

Thanks for all the replies, very useful

I'm now getting a different one (long storyemoticon-0124-worried.gif) which was registered on 1st Sept 2009 and from 'silvers' pics, its a 2009 MY
