After the Toyota recall disaster a while back it's no surprise they don't want to call it a recall! :wonder:

Actually come to think of it, I believe it was referred to as a "Workshop Campaign" when it was done IIRC :p

you should have bought three old coils off the 'bay !

that way you'dve had 4 shiny new revision D coils free of charge!

A recall is when the owner of the car are contacted directly by Skoda and told to take the car to the dealer for repairs usually safety related.

A service campaigne or measure are an upgraded part replacement or software update to improve product quality. These are carried out during routine visits to the dealers for servicing or warranty repairs etc. There is no prior notification to the customer.

Right, finally the coil packs have now been changed! The car it defiantly smoother with the transition of power, where as before it was missy/jerk'd on partial throttle.

What a farse that all was though...

Ive had mine changed on tuesday , all 4 . The friday before 2 coils went down and had engine managment light came on and had no power . AA man (a very nice man lol ) changed one and said that do me untill i get home and go to skoda . I can say its made a diffence and also changed the dog mount bush to a powerflex (yellow one) and WOW best mod ive done .

Had my vrs for 12months now, went in to a dealer to get price of a service and while i was there they checked my reg on there system and found that it hadn't had its coil pack recall, so they did it there and then.

Well just got back from slaters in abergele. Cant reccomend them highly enough changed all four coils incl the aftermarket 1. Ohh and a free cup of coffee.
